The Festival Group, one of Scotland’s largest independent bookmakers had a run of bad luck and had some major financial trouble about 12 months ago. When it was clear that there was no way for recovery the group decided to sell the business. The management team bought out 65 retail outlets in Scotland and the online web domain as well. Analysts have stated that these kinds of purchases are good investments even though the buyout plans took almost a year to complete even when there were there three major competitors, Landbrokes, William Hill and Coral taking a good percentage out of the online sports betting market.
